Leah Style . . .

Our little Peanut got his hair cut by Leah today. If you want a good cut, you should visit her @ The Bell Tower Salon Spa :-)
http://www.belltowersalonspa.com She and Beltran sang "We love haircuts . . . in the summer sun . . . and it's so fun when we get our ears done . . C'mon everyone and get your haircut!" Thanks, Leah :-)

Oral Surgery

Lancaster General Hospital by his side :-)
Today Little B had his two hour surgery to remove four teeth, extract the roots of four other teeth and have six teeth capped and take a panoramic x-ray. Dr. Aaron Miller did a great job and we are very thankful for the care and generousity that he has shown to us through his service. We are also very grateful for LGH coming alongside of us and covering his expenses and allowing us to use their facility! The staff was wonderful :-) Dr. Miller said that if we had not taken steps to intervene, he may have lost all his baby teeth, and his adult teeth could have been damaged as a result.

Dr. Aaron Miller, DMD (kidscowboydentistry.com) gave Little B a stuffed pony saying, "Hey Buddy, this if for you!" Everyone was very gentle and giving in the way the treated Little B. We were touched by the generosity, care and cheerfulness as they all gave of their time, especially Dr Miller who gave his time and talents to serve a child of God in a great way!

The anesthethiologist :-)

being weighed . . .

hospital socks . . . just his size :-)

It was a long day for our little guy. He was woken up at 5:00 am and then taken to the hospital where he was changed into his cute little whale hospital gown, and cheerfully went to the Patient Care Assistant, saying "I love you!" and a big "HI" to everyone at the nurses station. He managed to capture everyone's heart while he waited with a big smile on his face, bouncing and clapping his hands and saying, "I love you!" to everyone who came into the room. His post surgery outlook was a little less optimistic as it was clouded by pain and tears. Abigail and Mama were with him and comforted and loved him as much as they could. By nightfall, there were a few little lines ushered forth in song as he tried to sing even though he wasn't 100% himself.
But all in all, the surgery went very well, and he now has a new and improved mouth :-) Thank you to everyone who cared for him today and everyone who stood behind him in prayer!!! Even this little child does not go unnoticed by the eye of our Creator who loves him in unspeakable ways and reaches down to touch him through the lives of those around him :-)

Pre-Op Doctor's Visit

Dr. Dan Armstrong (even though he was on vacation) came into the office to check Little B's heart and lungs to make sure he was healthy enough to have his oral surgery which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 30, 7:30 a.m. at Lancaster General Hospital with Dr. Aaron Miller, his pediatric dentist.

One of the nurses looked at B and inquired,
"How old is he?"
"Seven," I replied.
"Seven months?" she asked.
"Ummm . . . seven years," I said :-)

Keep our little guy in your prayers that he will stay healthy so he can have his surgery and for all the details involved in the surgery. Thanks :-)

Ouch . . .

Our little inch-worm earned a small blister on his foot from scooting around so much on the hardwood floor and the carpet. We gave him a band-aide so he can continue to scoot around freely :-)

Kisses . . . kisses and more kisses

You can always count on him for a kiss :-)

Just Praisin' our Lord . . .

Little B loves music . . . As Jonathan played and sang, he scooted over for a closer view and every now and then would say, "I love you, too!"

With the morning light comes the opening of two little eyelids, little brown arms entwined around my neck and a kiss bestowed on my face. I love my little Peanut Blossom . . . scooting across the kitchen floor like an inch-worm toward me, sitting in his little white onesi in the sun, cuddle time, kisses and random, "I love you, too!" comments and more kisses. Life is beautiful!

"Meaking" for the Lord . . .

There is a children's song about the paralytic that Jesus heals in the New Testament, and some of the words go like this: "He (the paralytic) went walking and leaping and praising God!!" Little B loves music and is quick to learn a new tune, but the words are not always grasped as easily. He tends to sing the words of this song as, "He went walking and 'meaking.' " How he loves to sing!!!
Little B, obviously cannot walk. He can't even crawl on all fours like most toddlers. He gets around by doing a little combat crawl that consists of lying on his belly and pulling himself forward with his arms/elbows. He looks like a little inch-worm - the cutest inchworm we've ever seen. We like to call his little mode of transportation "meaking across the floor." Some people walk, and some people "meak" and Little B's "meaking" is beautiful.

Mission's Conference

Our church, Westminster Presbyterian in Lancaster, held their annual Missions Conference this past week. The theme this year was Peru, and the children who attended (about 80) were able to meet Little B, hear his story, and participate in a Spanish festival. The mission conference offering is being divided between Little B, to help with his medical expenses, and Water Street Rescue Mission in downtown Lancaster.
